The Sony Xperia XA gets a new security update

The Sony Xperia XA is receiving the January security update. This is a minor update, which includes security patches for the Android operating system. At the moment it is not known exactly known what it would resolve. In any case it is a basic update, once you see the popup message on your device, you can go for it. The Sony Xperia XA was announced at the Mobile World Congress last year and features mid-high-end Smartphone.

Security updates that are coming to the Sony Xperia XA have the following codes: 33.2.A.4.70 for the standard model (F3111, F3113, F3115) and 33.2.B.4.70 for the Xperia XA Dual (F3112, F3116). What we recommend is that you wait to see the popup message on the screen of your device. If you cannot wait, you can go to the settings of your device and look for it from the updates section. The upgrade can be done via FOTA (Firmware over the Air), so you do not need to use any cables.

As always we recommend, before carrying out the update you should carry out a series of important steps. This will ensure the security of your device for the download and subsequent installation.

  • Have your device’s battery charged. Make sure it is at least 50 percent full. The important thing is that the phone cannot be turned off during the update.
  • Always stay connected to a WiFi network that is stable and secure. Forget about upgrading to any WiFi on the street. Be patient and wait to get home.
  • Do not forget to have enough space in the phone memory. Remove applications and files you no longer need.
  • Back up all your important data and files. Nothing has to happen during the update installation process. Anyway, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
